Atlanta Falcons Tickets, Watching The Game At The Georgia Dome

The Atlanta Falcons play their home games at the Georgia Dome. The indoor stadium was built in 1992 and has a seating capacity of 71,228. In 2006, renovations were started to boost the marketability of the venue's premium seats and suites. Also, repairs were made several years ago when a portion of the Georgia Dome's roof fell into the stadium (there were no injuries). In early 2008, a tornado damaged the roof of the Dome, leading to additional repairs. Due to the attention given to the repair work after the damages, the venue is safe today. To watch the Falcons play at the Georgia Dome, you can purchase Atlanta Falcons tickets right here at cheap prices or visit the Georgia dome itself and pay face ticket price.

Atlanta Falcons: Trying To Soar

Since the year they were founded (1966), the Atlanta Falcons have had a difficult time in holding their own against their opponents. They began their career that year by losing their inaugural game to the Philadelphia Eagles. The next 8 games of the 1966 regular season would only offer the same disappointment. In fact, the remainder of the 1960's were particularly tough on the Falcons and they ended the decade having won only 12 games.

The 1970's started with high expectations. 1971 marked the first season during which the franchise could post a winning record. In November of that year, the Falcons barely beat the Green Bay Packers on national TV. In 1973, the Falcons launched into their first game by posting a stunning win over the New Orleans Saints. But, their performance during the rest of the season was uneven. Despite a 7-game winning streak toward the seasons' end, the team was eliminated from the playoffs. It wasn't until 1978 that the Falcons finally earned a spot in the playoffs (though they were beaten by the Dallas Cowboys).

The franchise turned in respectable performances in 1980, but the following years were marred with injuries and management changes. Despite a highly effective Deion Sanders who was drafted in 1989, the team seemed nearly incapable of winning a Division championship. However, 1998 was an exciting year for the Falcons. Seeming to emerge from the rubble of past seasons, the team won their Conference championship, earning a seat at that year's Super Bowl (they were eventually defeated by the Denver Broncos). While the 2000's have shown the Falcons to be formidable competitors, they have yet to repeat their performance from 1998.

The Atlanta Falcons hope to gain the popularity and ticket sales of the Atlanta Braves.
