Spending Time At Soldier Field - Chicago Bears Tickets
Soldier Field is one of the oldest venues used in the NFL. It was built in 1922 and was designated as a national landmark during the 1980's (though it was stripped of this designation in 2004). With a seating capacity of 61,500, the stadium is also the smallest venue in the NFL. To shore up the deteriorating, it underwent a massive renovation in 2003. Bears Tickets to home games are comparably expensive (starting at $68) but are usually easy to acquire up to a few days before the games and there are always some relatively cheap Chicago Bears tickets listed for sale here.

Chicago Bears: Stalking Another Title
The Chicago Bears have spent their entire career in Illinois. They were founded in 1919 in Decatur and relocated to Chicago 2 years later. Over the years, they've amassed an assortment of titles including 8 NFL Championships, 4 Conference titles, 17 Division titles and a Super Bowl victory. They've played their home games at Soldier Field since 1971 and have had a number of memorable personalities among their ranks.
Walter Payton was drafted in 1975 and was quickly welcomed by the team, management and the fans. Not only was Payton one of the most impressive running backs in the NFL, his personality and off-field antics endeared him to the players and the fans, who gave him the nickname "Sweetness."
Another formidable personality on the Bears was head coach Mike Ditka. Regardless of what his team was doing, Ditka always found a way into the media. In 1983, he broke his wrist on a locker in an enraged outburst at halftime. In 1985, he was arrested for a DWI. In 1987, he threw his gum at a heckler. During the 1988 season, in which the Bears were posting inspiring performances, Ditka had a heart attack (from which he recovered). Despite his anger and antics, Ditka proved to be an effective coach until he was fired in 1992.
Bitter Enemies
The Chicago Bears have always nurtured a deep, bitter rivalry with the Green Bay Packers. It extended past the playing field. In a notable example, Bears owner George Halas, trying to prevent the Packers from signing a certain player, pushed the league to banish the team. Then, Halas signed the player in question and worked to have the Packers readmitted. Ditka fanned the flames of this rivalry in 1985 when he used lineman William Perry (also known as "Refrigerator" Perry) to taunt the Packers during a game.
