The number of seats were reduced in 2005 after the stadium began experiencing sporadic blackouts. For Super Bowl and college games, seating is expanded to over 85,000 using bleachers. Despite the Jaguars' occasionally impressive record since 1995, attendance is often low. As a result, Jacksonville Jaguars tickets (though usually priced highly and not generally too cheap) are easy to purchase a few days before the game.
Jacksonville Jaguars Tickets: Prowling For A Title
In the early 1990's, the NFL began looking for a city in which to expand the league. At the time, it hadn't done so since 1976. As professional football was growing in popularity, the NFL decided to bring another team into the fold. They selected 5 cities as a potential home for the new expansion. Jacksonville was one of them. However, because there were already 2 other NFL teams in Florida, most people suspected that Jacksonville had only a slight chance of being chosen. As the time drew closer for the NFL to name the city, most people considered St. Louis (another of the 5 possible cities) to have the best chances. However, at the end of November in 1993, the NFL announced that Jacksonville would be home to the newest NFL franchise, and now fans began looking for Jacksonville Jaguars tickets for sale and in all honestly there are plenty of fairly cheap Jacksonville Jaguars tickets available for every game.
Through An Historical Lens
The new NFL expansion team, the Jacksonville Jaguars, played their first regular season in 1995. Though they didn't post attention-grabbing numbers, they did perform reasonably well. 1996 fared much better for the Jaguars and they were awarded a place at the playoffs. The following 3 seasons (1997 through 1999) saw the franchise return to the playoffs. Their steady performance caused many to speculate that a trip to the Super Bowl (and possibly a title) was not only possible; it was imminent.
Unfortunately, 2000 marked the year of a steep decline in the performance of the Jaguars. Due largely to the franchise's salary cap, talented players began to leave the ranks. Many were lost due to becoming free agents. As a result, their records during the 2000, 2001 and 2002 regular seasons suffered dramatically. In 2003, Jack Del Rio was brought in to turn the team around and in 2004, he led the team back to the playoffs.
