Kansas City Chiefs Football Tickets - A Trip To Arrowhead Stadium

The Chiefs' fans are loud. In fact, due to their enthusiasm, Arrowhead Stadium (the Chiefs' home) has gained a reputation as the loudest stadium in professional football. The fans are so dedicated and vocal that Sports Illustrated once noted that Arrowhead Stadium is the most difficult venue for visiting NFL teams to play. The stadium is old by NFL standards, having been built in 1972. But, despite a generous seating capacity of 79,451, games routinely sell out and Kansas City Chiefs football tickets are somewhat hard to find, especially at cheap prices.. By the end of 2007, Arrowhead Stadium had recorded 149 consecutive sold out games. To visit the stadium in person and experience the roar of the Chiefs' fans, purchase tickets early. Otherwise, you may miss the opportunity.

Kansas City Chiefs Tickets : Beginning Of The AFL

The Kansas City Chiefs were created at the dawn of the American Football League (AFL). Lamar Hunt wanted to create a rival league to the NFL in 1959. He founded his team (then known as the Dallas Texans) in 1960, but was disappointed that his Texans were always in the shadow of the more popular Dallas Cowboys. In 1963, after having negotiated a deal with the mayor of Kansas City, Hunt relocated his franchise and renamed it the Kansas City Chiefs. KC Chiefs tickets are now one of the hottest tickets in the NFL.

Built upon the back of the Chiefs' steady performance, the AFL thrived. And it was the success of Hunt's franchise that paved the road for the 1970 AFL-NFL merger. However, the Chiefs faltered after the merger. They struggled to hold their own during most of the 1970's. Eventually, many of their best players migrated to other franchises while the Chiefs' head coach (Hank Stram) was ousted. More than a decade would pass before the Chiefs began to attract fan attention again. Today, the future Kansas city chiefs season ticket prices range over $2500 to over three thousand dollars depending on the seats.

Culture Of The Chiefs And Their Fans

Since 1990, the Kansas City Chiefs football tickets have sold well as the team has managed to attract a rabidly loyal fan base with many of their actions steeped in controversy. While the Star Spangled Banner is played before every game, Chiefs fans have created a tradition of yelling, "...home of the CHIEFS!" (notably refraining from doing so during much of the 2001 season). Another example is their use of a "war chant" when their team plays the Washington Redskins.
