Welcome To LP Field - Tennessee Titans Tickets
One of the primary motivators for Adams in moving to Tennessee was the city's promise to build a new stadium for his team. They broke ground in 1997 and opened in 1999. Adams took the occasion to change his franchise's name in order to signal a new beginning. In 1999, they opened their home stadium, LP Field as the Tennessee Titans. With a seating capacity of 68,798, LP Field sells out regularly (mostly due to season ticket holders). If you'd like to see the Titans in action, act early and purchase your Titans tickets well before the day of the game.

Tennessee Titans: In Search Of A Super Bowl Title
They started their NFL career as the Houston Oilers. In 1960, before the merger of the American Football League (AFL) and the NFL, a successful oilman named Bud Adams proposed an NFL expansion team in Houston. His proposal was rejected. In response, Adams approached the AFL which welcomed his idea of a new AFL franchise. In 1962, Adams made professional football history by owning the first franchise to ever coax an NFL player to the AFL. However, though the new franchise performed well in the AFL, the AFL and the NFL merged in 1970. And the first half of the 1970's would not be so kind.
The Titans' Record: 70's, 80's And 90's
It wasn't until 1978 when the team that would eventually become the Tennessee Titans would take their first trip to the NFL playoffs. After returning to the playoffs in 1979 and 1980, they had yet to secure a title. In 1980, Adams fired Bum Phillips, the head coach. The next 7 years signaled a dry spell for the Titans (still known as the Houston Oilers). But, the dry spell broke in 1987 and the franchise went on to post stunning performances for 7 consecutive seasons. Unfortunately, they failed to gain a spot at the Super Bowl in each of those years.
During the 1990's, Adams' patience with his team was wearing thin. Not only had they failed to reach the Super Bowl, but they couldn't seem to earn a spot in the AFC Championships. Finally, in 1993, his frustration boiled over. He announced to the players and managers that they would either earn a place at that year's Super Bowl or he would begin trading players to break the team. The Titans failed and Adams began trading. After 3 more years of dismal numbers, the franchise had lost a significant amount of support from the fans and from the city. Adams' requests for a new stadium were quickly rejected. In 1997, Adams packed his team's bags and took them to Tennessee.
Today, Titans fans can buy Tennessee Titans tickets to almost every home game of the season without too much fear of the game selling out, especially if they purchase their tix early in relation to the game time.
