Bolton Football Club: A Struggle Through Time
The Bolton Wanderers enjoyed a remarkable era of success from 1935 through 1964. During that period, they remained in the elite ranks of English football. Unfortunately, 1964 marked the beginning of a slow decline that eventually led to relegation. Despite a brief return to the First Division in 1978, the Trotters found themselves languishing in the Fourth Division (football's lowest tier) by 1987.

Their stay was a short one; at the end of the following season, they were relegated. Sam Allardyce was hired as manager to force a turnaround and by 2000, Bolton won another promotion to the top flight. Today, they continue to battle for position within the Premiere League.
