Bolton Tickets

Founded in 1874, The Bolton Wanderers (nicknamed "The Trotters") created the Football League in 1888 with 11 other clubs. As such, they have spent the majority of their history competing in English football's top flight (both in the First Division and later in the elite Premiere League). Like most clubs, Bolton's stay in the top flight hasn't been without interruption. However, with current manager Gary Megson, they hope to entrench themselves into the top half of the Premiere League table. You should order discounted Bolton tickets today to reserve your seats.

Bolton Football Club: A Struggle Through Time

The Bolton Wanderers enjoyed a remarkable era of success from 1935 through 1964. During that period, they remained in the elite ranks of English football. Unfortunately, 1964 marked the beginning of a slow decline that eventually led to relegation. Despite a brief return to the First Division in 1978, the Trotters found themselves languishing in the Fourth Division (football's lowest tier) by 1987.

Things turned around with the addition of Bruce Rioch as manager in 1992. Within three years, the Trotters had fought their way into the Premiere League, spurring sales of Bolton tickets. Rioch left the club in 1995 to guide the Arsenals and was replaced by Roy McFarland. He lasted one year. Due to dismal performance during the 1995-96 season, the Bolton Wanderers were relegated to the Football League.

1997 saw the club quickly dominate the Football League and they were granted promotion back to the Premier League at the end of the season. Their stay was a short one; at the end of the following season, they were relegated. Sam Allardyce was hired as manager to force a turnaround and by 2000, Bolton won another promotion to the top flight. Today, they continue to battle for position within the Premiere League.

The Wanderers play home matches at Reebok Stadium, a venue that was built in 1997 with a seating capacity of 28,723. Even though the club has not been able to secured a major title since 1958 (the year in which they won their fourth FA Cup), fans have high hopes for the team. Manager Gary Megson has shown a willingness to take chances, including an eyebrow-raising deal to bring striker Johan Elmander aboard.
